EI-114 Automatic Lamination Stacking Machine for High Efficiency
Power Transformer Core Assembly
The EI-114 automatic lamination stacking machine is built for large
power transformer cores where material choice and stacking quality
jointly determine performance. Designed for EI-114 silicon steel
laminations, it feeds E-type and I-type sheets alternately into
pre-wound bobbins under closed-loop PLC control, completing
interleaved stacking at up to 250 stacks per minute with stacking
accuracy of plus or minus 0.1 mm and positioning accuracy of plus
or minus 0.02 mm. It is the production platform for manufacturers
of 500-1200 VA power transformers who need one machine to run both
grain-oriented and non-oriented steel — without compromise on
either.
CRGO or CRNGO: One Machine, Both Materials
Material selection is one of the most consequential decisions in
transformer design, and it differs project by project.
Grain-oriented silicon steel (CRGO) delivers superior permeability
in the rolling direction and is the choice for efficiency-critical
designs where every watt of core loss matters. Non-oriented steel
(CRNGO) offers uniform magnetic properties in all directions at
lower cost, and is preferred where balanced flux behavior and
budget control dominate. Thickness adds another axis: 0.3 mm and
0.35 mm sheets reduce eddy-current losses for high-efficiency
ratings, while 0.5 mm sheets maximize mechanical stiffness and
economy. The EI-114 stacking machine's feeding mechanism —
magazine, separator, and insertion dies — handles all of these:
CRGO and CRNGO, from 0.3 mm to 0.5 mm, with no mechanical change
between grades. Material follows the design, not the machine's
limitations.

Consistent Stacking Across Every Material
✅ No-Changeover Material Switching – Switching between CRGO and CRNGO sheets, or between 0.3 mm and
0.5 mm thickness, requires no die change or mechanical adjustment.
The feeding and insertion mechanism separates and places each sheet
with the same controlled motion regardless of grade.
✅ Gentle Handling Protects Material Value – Large CRGO laminations carry significant material cost. The
dedicated feeding path handles them without edge damage, bending,
or double-picks — protecting both the sheet and the oriented
steel's sensitive surface insulation.
✅ Photoelectric Counting with Auto-Stop – Every lamination is counted and verified in-cycle; misfeeds stop
the machine within 0.5 seconds, holding scrap below 0.3 percent
even on premium material where each rejected sheet hurts.
✅ Recipe Storage per Material and Batch – Stacking parameters are stored as named recipes on the 7-inch
HMI and recalled in under 30 seconds, so a CRGO project and a CRNGO
project can alternate without re-configuration errors.
Large-Core Precision
✅ ±0.1 mm Stacking, ±0.02 mm Positioning – On a large core, geometric errors scale into real efficiency
losses. Precision stacking keeps the lamination column tight and
air gaps minimized, so the efficiency rating designed into the
material is the efficiency rating measured in the finished
transformer.
✅ Interleaved Stacking for Uniform Flux – The one-by-one E and I interleaved pattern distributes flux
evenly across the full core cross-section — essential in large
cores where flux crowding raises local losses and noise.
